Job Responsibilities:

Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in sales areas, stockrooms, and other store locations.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, ensuring they are stocked with necessary supplies such as soap and toilet paper.
- Dust and wipe down surfaces, display units, shelves, and windows.
- Remove trash and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
- Clean and sanitize break rooms or staff areas.

Window and Display Cleaning:
- Clean and polish windows, glass doors, and mirrors to maintain a presentable appearance.
- Ensure that product displays and fixtures are clean and dust-free.

Spill and Incident Response:
- Promptly respond to spills or accidents, ensuring the safety of customers and staff by cleaning and sanitizing the affected areas.
- Use appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to manage spills and other cleaning emergencies.

Stocking Cleaning Supplies:
- Monitor the inventory of cleaning supplies and report when supplies need replenishment.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is maintained, clean, and in proper working order.

Sanitization:
- Regularly sanitize high-touch areas such as door handles, counters, handrails, and card machines to reduce the spread of germs.
- Follow any specific cleaning protocols established for health and safety, particularly regarding COVID-19 or other hygiene requirements.

Cooperation with Staff:
- Work closely with retail staff and management to ensure all areas of the store meet cleanliness standards.
- Follow schedules and instructions from supervisors regarding cleaning tasks and priorities.

Education:
- No formal education is usually required; a high school diploma may be preferred by some employers.

Experience:
- Prior experience in a cleaning or janitorial role is advantageous, particularly in a retail or commercial environment.

Skills:
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, tools, and products.
- Ability to safely handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations, especially concerning the use of cleaning products.

- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Ability to carry or move light to moderate cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners, mops, cleaning carts).
- Capacity to lift and carry up to 20-30 pounds of supplies or trash bags
