Edenvale: Electronic Technician

Minimum requirements: Matric is essential 2-3 years experience within electronics Must have knowledge of the fundamentals of electronics Must be capable to do fault finding and preferably be able to repair and/or maintain electronic products Good knowledge of security control room operations and monitoring software Good Excel and basic networking skills Key responsibilities: Assist and advise customers telephonically regarding technical matters, correct installation procedures / methods, equipment features and operation Log, record, report and follow up support calls Monitor and report on the companys various communications infrastructures Field repairs, maintenance and installation of radio equipment / systems (base stations /repeaters) whilst adhering to correct procedures and quality standards Travel when necessary to both national and international customers Report directly to the Technical Manager and assist technical staff when required Assist where necessary with the general everyday requirements of the Technical department Assist Sales and Marketing department with customer visits, exhibition stands etc Share after hours standby support responsibilities with the companys other technical staff Always uphold the professional image of the company Highly advantageous skills but not a requirement General RF knowledge and experience VHF repeater network experience GSM based communication knowledge and experience Knowledge of SIM cards and cellular networks Advanced networking experience Knowledge and experience of server and database systems Consultant: Thandi Speelman – Dante Personnel Johannesburg
