Job Summary
- Proven experience in designing and building data platforms / lakehouses
- Strong Python, SQL, Airflow, and distributed systems experience
- Hands-on expertise with tools such as Apache Iceberg, Trino, Kafka, Spark, Airflow, MinIO
- CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform skills

? Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- Proven hands-on experience with data engineering and platform development
- Familiarity with Data Mesh principles, data governance, and metadata management
Requirements
- Python, SQL, Airflow, distributed systems knowledge
- Practical experience with:
- Apache Iceberg (versioned tables)
- Trino (federated querying)
- MinIO (object storage)
- Apache Kafka & Kafka Connect
- Apache Spark
- Apache Airflow
- dbt or similar for transformations
- Strong CI/CD pipeline, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, ArgoCD experience
- Ability to integrate DataHub for metadata-rich data products
- Self-starter who thrives in remote, distributed teams
? Key Performance Areas (KPA’s)
- Platform Development: Design and develop scalable, reusable data pipelines and lakehouse solutions
- Integration: Collaborate with DevOps to deploy infra with Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD
- Governance: Implement data contracts, lineage tracking, metadata, and quality checks
- Enablement: Build self-service capabilities via Backstage, empower domain teams to own data products
- Observability & Reliability: Ensure security, performance, and reliability of the data platform
- Stakeholder Support: Partner with domain teams to onboard, integrate, and deliver best practice solutions
