<p><strong>Area/Location: </strong><em> </em><strong>Franschhoek, Cape Town</strong></p><p> </p><p><strong><span style="color:black;">Position Overview:</span></strong></p><p> <span style="color:black;">The Housekeeping Supervisor plays a key role in supporting the Hotel Management Team by supervising the housekeeping team to meet the strategic direction and annual plans for housekeeping operations.</span></p><p><strong><span style="color:black;">Key Responsibilities:</span></strong></p><p> </p><p> <span style="color:black;">Provide clear direction, oversight, and guidance to the Housekeeping Team, ensuring motivation and adherence to established standards.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Facilitate effective communication and collaboration within the Housekeeping Department and with other operational departments.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Prepare weekly departmental work schedules based on occupancy forecasts, allocating tasks accordingly.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Monitor daily staffing levels to ensure sufficient coverage at all times.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas to confirm cleanliness, maintenance, and operational standards.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Implement and maintain departmental par-stock levels for chemicals, amenities, linen, and other operational items in coordination with Hotel Management.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Control and monitor inventories related to equipment, linen, stationery, guest and cleaning supplies, and uniforms to ensure stock levels and cost efficiency.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Identify opportunities to reduce waste and enhance cost savings, while aligning service practices with environmental and financial goals.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Maintain up-to-date departmental training records that accurately reflect all conducted training sessions.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Implement and monitor an effective key control system to ensure the safety and security of guests, team members, equipment, and supplies.</span></p><p><strong><span style="color:black;">Experience and Competencies Required:</span></strong></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role within a 5-star luxury hotel or resort.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Excellent verbal and written communication skills.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Proven experience in staff training and development.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Competence in preparing and managing duty rosters.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Strong knowledge of expense and inventory control.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Ability to remain composed and professional in high-pressure situations.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Minimum Requirements:</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Diploma in Hospitality or equivalent qualification.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Valid drivers license.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">High level of physical endurance.</span></p><p> <span style="color:black;">Preference will be given to candidates residing in Franschhoek and surrounding areas.</span></p>
