About the Role
We are seeking a creative and passionate Sous Chef to join a prestigious luxury wine estate in Franschhoek. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented culinary professional to lead a kitchen team, create exquisite dishes, and support a world-class dining experience in one of South Africa’s most renowned wine regions.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting in menu planning and recipe development
- Preparing and presenting dishes to luxury hospitality standards
- Supervising and mentoring kitchen staff, ensuring smooth workflow
- Maintaining hygiene, cleanliness, and health & safety standards in the kitchen
- Managing inventory, stock levels, and ordering ingredients
- Collaborating with the culinary and F&B teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences
- Contributing to seasonal and special event menus
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in fine dining or luxury hospitality
- Strong leadership, team management, and organisational skills
- Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about culinary excellence
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen management systems
Salary & Benefits
- Salary: R25,000 – R28,000 per month
