About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Controller to join our team at Loutrans. As the daily controller of our fleet, you will be responsible for managing 25-30 vehicles, ensuring the efficient operation of drivers, pallets, and PODs on trucks. A strong professional relationship with drivers is essential, as well as excellent communication skills. If you are a motivated and organized individual who can work effectively under pressure, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily control of fleet operations
  • Management of drivers and their routes
  • Control of pallets & PODs on trucks
  • Communication at loading and offloading points
  • Encouraging drivers to finish loading and offloading as quickly as possible
  • Route planning
  • Reporting all breakdowns to the workshop
  • Ensuring drivers have valid PDPs, vehicles were tested (COFs) and roadworthy, cross-border permits and Hazchem certificates are in place
  • Maintaining security and safety standards

Requirements

  • Experience in fleet management or a related field
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work quickly and under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to enforce authority when necessary
  • Innovative and dynamic approach to problem-solving
  • Computer literate

Qualifications

  • Experience in the field is beneficial, but not essential
  • Relevant certifications or diplomas (if applicable)
