About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Controller to join our team at Loutrans. As the daily controller of our fleet, you will be responsible for managing 25-30 vehicles, ensuring the efficient operation of drivers, pallets, and PODs on trucks. A strong professional relationship with drivers is essential, as well as excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities
- Daily control of fleet operations
- Management of drivers and their routes
- Control of pallets & PODs on trucks
- Communication at loading and offloading points
- Encouraging drivers to finish loading and offloading as quickly as possible
- Route planning
- Reporting all breakdowns to the workshop
- Ensuring drivers have valid PDPs, vehicles were tested (COFs) and roadworthy, cross-border permits and Hazchem certificates are in place
- Maintaining security and safety standards
Requirements
- Experience in fleet management or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work quickly and under pressure
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to enforce authority when necessary
- Innovative and dynamic approach to problem-solving
- Computer literate
Qualifications
- Experience in the field is beneficial, but not essential
- Relevant certifications or diplomas (if applicable)
