About the Role
Manpower Group is seeking a skilled Artisan – Turner & Boring Mill to join our team in Gauteng. As a Qualified Artisan – Turner, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality workpieces and contributing to efficient production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Work strictly according to planning instructions, drawings, specifications, and tolerances
- Verify planning, drawings, and material before commencing work; do not proceed without proper documentation
- Perform and record “first-off” inspections prior to batch production and sign off job cards accordingly
- Clearly mark workpieces with job numbers and transfer cast numbers where applicable
- Ensure all measuring and testing equipment is calibrated, handled, and stored correctly
- Liaise with the Production Foreman to establish priorities, manufacturing sequences, and completion dates
- Maintain housekeeping standards and comply with all company SHE and safety regulations
- Report any non-conformities (drawings, specifications, machines, or equipment) to prevent downtime and delays
- Ensure all job packages are correctly signed off and job clocking procedures are followed
- Attend and actively participate in meetings, training, SHE, equity, and quality circle activities
- Perform any other reasonable and lawful duties required to meet urgent operational demands
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years’ applicable experience in a manufacturing environment
- Sound knowledge of ISO procedures
- Multi-skilling will be a strong advantage
Qualifications
- National Trade Diploma (Qualified Artisan – Turner)
- Std 8 / N2
