About the Role
Letshalo HR is seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Bursar to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for managing school fees, handling petty cash, and providing general administrative support to the Bursar. Key Responsibilities
- Handle daily communications with parents regarding school fees, including telephonic and email correspondence
- Invoicing of school fees, subsidy runs, debit order runs, and sending of statements monthly
- Administration of school fee collection, including handover to debt collectors of defaulting parents/guardians on a bi-annual basis
- Distribution and collection of exemption application forms
- Assessment of exemption applications
- Maintenance of accurate records
- Loading debit orders for new students
- Monthly maintenance of debit orders and altering amounts annually
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a school environment
- Knowledge of financial management principles
- Proficiency in Edupac software
- Credit control experience
- Administration and cash-handling experience
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field (if applicable)
