About the Role
The Talent Room is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer to join our team in Gauteng. As a key member of our cloud infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable, secure, and resilient cloud architectures using AWS services. You will work closely with development teams to ensure seamless integration of cloud-based solutions into our applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement cloud architectures using AWS services.
- Develop and maintain cloud infrastructure standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Architect solutions for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate AWS services for business requirements.
- Ensure infrastructure designs align with security, compliance, and governance requirements.
Requirements
- Strong skills in Python (especially PySpark for AWS Glue)
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and database optimization
- Proficiency with AWS and infrastructure as code
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering (or similar)
- Minimum 5+ years working experience in data engineering development
- Experience with AWS services used for data warehousing, computing, and transformations (e.g., AWS Glue, S3, Lambda, Step Functions, Athena, CloudWatch)
