About the Role
The Dealmaker at Communicate Finance will play a critical role in evaluating funding applications, performing detailed financial assessments, and determining whether businesses meet our credit standards. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities to develop and refine deal structures that align with both client needs and responsible lending principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate funding applications and perform detailed financial assessments
- Develop and refine deal structures to ensure lending terms meet client needs and responsible lending principles
- Prepare financial models, reports, and investment documents for committee decision-making
- Draft and conclude loan and security agreements
- Monitor loan compliance and engage with borrowers to resolve issues
- Track credit exposure throughout the life of each transaction
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure processes, documentation, and decisions meet our credit, operational, and governance requirements
Requirements
- Strong ability to analyse financial information, interpret statements, build models, and assess business sustainability
- Confidence in reviewing credit applications, conducting due diligence, and forming well-reasoned recommendations
- Skilled in managing multiple deal-related tasks, producing clear written reports, and presenting findings to decision-makers
- Comfortable operating independently while maintaining strong collaboration across teams and engaging professionally with clients
- Capable of applying structured methodologies, legal awareness, and quantitative techniques to evaluate funding opportunities effectively
Qualifications
Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Science. Professional qualifications such as CA(SA) or CFA are advantageous.
