Job Summary
Function
The incumbent will be responsible for the successful management and execution of electrical engineering and infrastructure projects. To co-ordinate all the activities of a contract to ensure that contracts are executed Safely, in time and within the tendered budget and conform to designed quality requirements and to the satisfaction of the Client
Tasks will include:
PLANNING
Responsible for input at tender stage (labour, material, transport)
Activities and time scheduling (programme)
Material – order, transport, quality, storekeeping
Manpower requirements (resource scheduling)
Logistics
COST CONTROL
Monthly budget for cost and sales
Progress versus budget – costs
Progress versus budget – sales
Correctness of Site Instruction estimates
Final forecast cost
Final forecast sales
Claims – Cost Price Adjustment, Site Instructions, extension of time etc.
Invoicing
REPORTING
Progress
Site Meetings
Abnormal Incidents
Time records
Contract Review
QUALITY ASSURANCE
ISO 9001 requirements
Implement company policies
Ensure Active Management of a Quality programme at all sites
CUSTOMER LIAISON
Feedback
Meetings
Respond to queries
LEGAL OBLIGATIONS
FIDIC, NEC experience
Claims formulation & negotiation
OHS Act Appointment
ADMIN & MANAGEMENT
Contract Records
Manpower – records, grievances, queries

Qualifications and Experience
A recognised tertiary electrical engineering qualification
Minimum of 8 – 10 years exposure to the electrical and instrumentation industry with at least 4 – 5 years as Site Manager or Contracts Manager.
Project management experience.
Working knowledge of the OHS Act legislation will be an advantage.
Computer literacy and competent in using MS Excel and MS Project or Primavera P6
Safety Training
QA Training (ISO 9001)
Financial Training (ability to run own committed cost system)
Good communication skills and assertive business acumen.
Ability to work under pressure.
