About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Grain Trader to join our team at Green Marble Recruitment Consultants. With a strong background in grain trading, agri-commodity brokering, or procurement, you will be responsible for sourcing grain from local producers and cooperatives, negotiating with buyers, and managing trading positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Source grain from local producers and cooperatives.
- Negotiate and execute sales with buyers, including millers, feedlots, and exporters.
- Monitor and interpret grain market trends, pricing, and logistics.
- Manage trading positions, risk exposure, and deal margins.
- Maintain accurate trade documentation and records.
- Collaborate with logistics and finance teams to ensure contract fulfilment.
- Build and grow a network of suppliers and clients across Southern Africa.
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in grain trading, agri-commodity brokering, or procurement.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Agriculture, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Deep understanding of maize, soya, wheat, and/or other grain markets.
- Computer literacy (Excel, trading platforms, ERP systems).
- Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel occasionally.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in a related field.
