About the Role
The Head of Public Health School at our institution is seeking a strategic leader to drive excellence in teaching, learning, and student academic performance. The successful candidate will provide overall management of the Public Health School on campus, leading and developing academic staff through performance management and ongoing support.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and overall management of the Public Health School on campus
- Drive excellence in teaching, learning, and student academic performance
- Monitor student results and implement targeted interventions for at-risk students
- Lead and develop academic staff through performance management and ongoing support
- Oversee curriculum delivery, academic material development, and assessment processes
- Support programme development and accreditation initiatives
- Collaborate with senior academic leadership and campus management
- Manage academic operations including student support, tracking, and academic administration
- Build and maintain strong industry relationships to support student placement and partnerships
- Represent the institution at industry forums, academic committees, and professional bodies
- Contribute to research output and promote a culture of scholarship
Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Public Health or a related field (NQF Level 9)
- 3–5 years’ experience in teaching and learning within higher education
- At least 2 years’ experience in an academic management or leadership role
- Strong understanding of higher education regulatory frameworks
