About the Role
As an IT Intern with Execustaff South Africa (Pty) Ltd, you will be working as part of our technical support team to provide assistance to staff members via various channels. You will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in IT operations and contribute to the smooth functioning of our IT infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first- and second-line technical support to staff via phone, email, remote assistance tools, or in person.
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, printers, and peripherals.
- Assist in managing and troubleshooting network connectivity issues and system performance problems.
- Perform routine system updates, backups, security checks, and general IT housekeeping tasks.
- Support user onboarding processes, including account creation, device setup, profile configuration, and permissions.
- Log, track, and update support requests through the IT helpdesk system.
- Maintain accurate records of IT assets, equipment, and software inventories.
- Assist with patch management, antivirus monitoring, system health checks, and basic server administration under supervision.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to the IT Administrator, ERP Manager, or external service providers when required.
- Participate in the rollout and testing of new technologies, system upgrades, and IT improvement projects.
Requirements
- Matric and a relevant IT qualification (A+, N+, MCSE, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Basic knowledge of networking principles (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi, DNS, DHCP).
- Good problemsolving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and patiently with end users.
- Ability to work independently, follow instructions, and manage multiple tasks.
- A positive attitude, eagerness to learn, and willingness to take on new challenges.
Qualifications
No formal qualifications are required for this role. Relevant IT experience or training is preferred but not essential.
