Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical equipment and systems for beneficiation plants, including crushing, screening, conveying, and separation applications
• Produce detailed plant layouts to optimise material flow, equipment placement, and operational efficiency
• Design welded structural components such as chutes, supports, platforms, housings, and equipment frames
• Generate detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using Autodesk Inventor in collaboration with the drawing office
• Perform engineering calculations, design verifications, and strength assessments to ensure compliance with specifications
• Support process engineers during test work to validate designs and optimise equipment performance
• Provide technical support during on-site installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities
• Assist with ongoing product support, resolving equipment performance issues and proposing technical solutions
• Contribute to product development initiatives, including improving existing equipment and developing new solutions
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation including specifications, bills of materials, and assembly information
• Ensure all designs comply with applicable safety, environmental, and engineering standards

Experience and Qualifications

• BEng Mechanical or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in mechanical design within beneficiation plants, bulk materials handling, or a closely related industrial environment
• Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor
• Solid understanding of bulk materials handling systems and plant design principles
• Proven experience in weldment design and structural detailing
• Working knowledge of beneficiation processes including crushing, screening, conveying, and material separation
• Experience supporting commissioning and site-based troubleshooting activities
• Strong problem-solving ability with sound engineering judgement
• Clear technical communication skills and ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
