Gauteng: Mechanical Design Engineer with BSc Degree posted by Network Contracting

The Role:
As a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in both the design and execution phases of bespoke engineering solutions, with a focus on:
Primary Responsibilities (70%):

• In-house mechanical design and development
• Fabrication and Metal Designs 
• Strength calculations (first principles and FEA/Simulation)
• 3D CAD modelling and detailed drawing using SolidWorks
• Compilation of manufacturing data packs including:
• BOMs, QCPs, Work Instructions, and Technical Manuals
• Supplier & vendor management during fabrication

Secondary Responsibilities (30%):

• Project management across service, manufacturing, design, and product lifecycles
• Involvement in:
• Quotation, procurement, and logistics
• Planning and scheduling
• Quality control, inspections, and reporting
• Data book creation and final closeout documentation

What You Need to have to Apply:

• A Mechanical Engineering degree re BEng or BSc, not BTech 
• 3–6 years’ experience in a relevant engineering environment
• Deep interest in mechanical design and technical problem-solving in Fabrication design 
• Experience in heavy engineering sectors or heavy manufacturing
• Able to work on shore and off shore and travel to various sites and coutnries 
• High Competency in SolidWorks, FEA tools, and manufacturing processes
• Strong documentation and communication skills
