Job Description
- Perform advanced diagnostic procedures on various vehicle systems using appropriate diagnostic tools and equipment
- Identify vehicle issues through visual inspection, road tests, and advanced troubleshooting
- Conduct repairs and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and electronic components of passenger vehicles
- Ensure all repairs and inspections are completed according to manufacturer standards and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding diagnostic findings, repair processes, and timelines
- Maintain accurate documentation of all work performed, parts used, and repairs completed
- Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology, tools, and repair techniques
- Assist in maintaining workshop equipment and ensure a clean and organized work environment
- Test drive vehicles post-repair to confirm resolution of issues and proper vehicle performance
Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a diagnostic or senior technician in a passenger vehicle dealership or workshop environment in the motor industry
- Qualified Automotive Technician with relevant trade certification (e.g., Motor Mechanic, Automotive Service Technician)
- Proficiency in using diagnostic software and tools (OEM and generic)
- Valid driver’s license (Code B or equivalent)
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and customer service abilities
- Motor Industry experience Essential!!
Preferred Experience / Competencies:
- Prior experience working with Japanese brand – vehicles will be a strong advantage
- Japanese brand-specific diagnostic training or certifications are favourable
- Exposure to hybrid systems or advanced automotive electronics is desirable
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and technical abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Commitment to quality and customer satisfaction
