About the Role
Hire Resolve, a leading logistics company in Gauteng, is seeking an experienced Shipping Officer to join their team. With a salary range of R250k – R350k per annum, this role offers a competitive compensation package for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the entire shipping process for both imports and exports, including the coordination of necessary documentation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding
- Manage and develop relationships with shipping suppliers, ensuring timely availability of shipping containers and negotiating favorable rates
- Collaborate with internal teams to establish efficient shipping procedures and optimize logistics operations
- Monitor shipment schedules and track deliveries to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues that may arise
- Handle the preparation and processing of shipping documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and packing lists
- Conduct regular audits of shipping processes and vendor performance to identify areas for improvement and cost savings
- Stay up-to-date with international shipping regulations and ensure compliance with all legal requirements and standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping, preferably within the international movers industry
- Strong knowledge of import and export regulations, customs documentation, and freight forwarding processes
- Proficient in using shipping software and systems, as well as Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal stakeholders
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments simultaneously
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure

- Completed Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
