Job Summary
The Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing engineers, lead projects and work closely with stakeholders to ensure the design, development and delivery of high-quality software solutions. The role involves technical leadership, mentorship and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of projects and alignment with business goals.
Projects, Development and Software Solutions
- Collaborate with product managers, systems engineers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Design and architect scalable, reliable, and maintainable software solutions.
- Conduct solution reviews and ensure adherence to standards and best practices.
- Identify and address technical challenges and risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Stay up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends and incorporate them into the development process as appropriate.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the team
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
- Prepare reports, manuals, and other documentation on the status, operation, and maintenance of software.
- Analyse and resolve technical and application problems
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering solutions on-time and on-budget.
Leadership, Team building and Reporting
- Lead, coach and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
- Guide and support team members to achieve business goals while fostering a positive work environment.
- Delegate tasks, offer guidance and foster collaboration among team members.
- Facilitate performance evaluations, including setting objectives and providing feedback.
- Clear and transparent communication, ensuring that expectations, goals and updates are communicated effectively.
- Prepare reports on opportunity insights and support management in business growth.
- Manage communication from and to team members to ensure that there is open communication and key messages are effectively provided via the necessary channels.
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in solution design, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience in the tech industry or with tech products.
- Understanding and implementation of sales methodologies and techniques.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
