Job Summary

Job Purpose: To manage and maintain accurate financial records for the organization, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and relevant legislation. The Bookkeeper will handle day-to-day accounting duties such as ledger entries, reconciliations, invoicing, and reporting to support smooth financial operations. Key Responsibilities: Payroll processing Monthly Bookkeeping SARS Correspondence Income Tax Value Added Tax Employees’ tax Provisional Tax Workman’s Compensation UIF Requirements: BCom Accounting Degree would be advantageous Minimum of 65% for Matric Accounting & 55% for Mathematics Payroll experience essential Strong client communication skills (Afrikaans & English) Analytical-minded Self-motivated, able to work independently & in a team.

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities: Record day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks) Process supplier invoices, customer invoices, receipts, payments, and journals Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and petty cash Maintain and reconcile the general ledger Assist in preparation of monthly management accounts Handle VAT calculations and submissions (SARS compliance) Assist with payroll processing and related journals Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards Prepare financial reports and ad hoc reports as needed Liaise with clients, auditors, and other stakeholders as required Qualifications & Experience: Diploma or Certificate in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or Finance (NQF Level 5 preferred) Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role (preferably in the financial or professional services industry) Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) Solid understanding of South African tax laws and compliance (VAT, PAYE, etc.) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general computer literacy Skills & Attributes: High level of accuracy and attention to detail Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and take initiative Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) Confidentiality and professional integrity Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
