Position Type: Full-time Salary: R20,000 per month (CTC negotiable based on experience) Job Purpose The school is seeking a dedicated, qualified, and experienced Afrikaans First Language Teacher to teach Grades 10, 11, and 12. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in line with the CAPS curriculum, preparing learners for internal assessments and the NSC examinations, and contributing to academic excellence within the school. Key Responsibilities Teach Afrikaans First Language to Grades 10, 11, and 12 Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons aligned with CAPS requirements Set, mark, and moderate tests, assignments, and examinations Accurately and timeously mark internal assessments and exam scripts Prepare learners for NSC examinations and monitor academic progress Maintain accurate learner records, assessment schedules, and reports Attend staff meetings, subject meetings, and parent-teacher engagements Contribute positively to the academic culture, values, and ethos of the school Minimum Requirements Recognised teaching qualification (BEd or PGCE) Afrikaans First Language proficiency (spoken and written) Minimum of 5 years teaching experience at high school level Proven experience teaching Grades 1012 Sound knowledge of the CAPS curriculum and assessment requirements Experience with marking formal assessments and examinations Skills and Competencies Strong classroom management skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Strong organisational and time-management skills Commitment to learner development and academic excellence Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
