About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage our business’s full debtors, creditors, and accounting function. This hybrid role offers flexibility with 2 days in our Germiston office and 3 days remote work.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all debtor and creditor communication and queries
- Perform account reconciliations and prepare statements
- Process remittances and bank account postings
- Actively chase credit and follow up on outstanding payments
- Process payroll and submit monthly SARS EMP201 returns
- Prepare and submit monthly SARS VAT returns
- Perform bank reconciliations and postings
- Process journals and maintain accurate general ledger records
Requirements
- 5 – 7 years proven experience in a similar bookkeeping role (full function: debtors, creditors, payroll, VAT)
- Strong knowledge of South African tax requirements (SARS VAT, EMP201, payroll)
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Pastel or equivalent) and advanced Excel
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently
Qualifications
Relevant qualification (e.g., ICB Bookkeeping Certificate, Accounting Diploma or equivalent) is advantageous.
