About the Role
A leading mechanical contracting firm specializing in comprehensive HVAC solutions is seeking a highly skilled HVAC Project Manager to join their dynamic team. This role offers the opportunity to manage diverse projects ranging from single-unit installations to multi-million-rand developments, providing a unique hybrid of technical project oversight and strategic sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Growth: Identify and secure HVAC solution opportunities with new and existing clients, including developers, architects, engineers, and end-users.
- Tender Management: Oversee the end-to-end tender process, ensuring all submissions are accurate, cost-effective, and delivered within strict deadlines.
- Design Integrity: Ensure all HVAC designs meet industry standards and best practices.
- Site Oversight: Manage labor, materials, and equipment to maintain high-quality installations while controlling costs.
- Sub-contractor Management: Lead sub-contractors effectively to maintain peak productivity and craftsmanship.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce Health and Safety practices in line with OHSACT and SHE frameworks, including the management of site safety files.
- Commissioning: Oversee system testing, air reading recordings, and formal handovers to clients.
- Operational Efficiency: Coordinate with Procurement and Stores to streamline supply chains and optimize stock usage.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience within the HVAC industry is essential.
- Education: Matric required; an Engineering qualification is highly advantageous.
- Technical Skills: Ability to interpret building plans and HVAC design overlays.
- Software: Mandatory proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
- Project History: A proven track record of managing multiple project sites independently.
- Sales Aptitude: Strong negotiation and sales skills to foster client relationships.
- Logistics: Must possess a valid drivers license and own reliable transport.
