About the Role
A well-established company in the steel processing industry is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join their team in Germiston. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on ferrous and non-ferrous materials, ensuring precision and adherence to welding codes and technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
- Interpret technical drawings and work procedures
- Weld in 1G-6G positions with strong understanding of material properties and weldability
- Maintain a quality-focused mindset with attention to detail
- Work independently or as part of a team in a workshop or manufacturing floor environment
Requirements
- Occupational Certificate: Welder (NQF Level 4) SAQA ID94100 or equivalent
- TIG / GTAW competency obtained through accredited training
- Trade Test Certificate
- 2-5 years TIG welding experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Proven experience in welding stainless steel, carbon steel and other alloys using TIG
- Experience in pipe / tube fabrication, sheet metal fabrication or precision manufacturing is advantageous
Qualifications
- Occupational Certificate: Welder (NQF Level 4) SAQA ID94100 or equivalent
- Trade Test Certificate
- Matric or equivalent
Salary & Benefits
Salary will be determined based on experience. The successful candidate may be required to work overtime and participate in large industrial projects.
