Job Summary
This is a remote position.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Data Architect to lead the design, implementation, and evolution of the organizations data architecture. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in defining and governing data strategy, classification frameworks, and data portfolios. This role will also focus on driving data innovation through the implementation of advanced analytics use cases (predictive, prescriptive, descriptive) while maximizing value from existing enterprise data platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a robust data governance framework, including strategy, policies, and data stewardship models.
- Define and manage data classification standards, ensuring data is categorized for regulatory compliance, security, and business value.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise data portfolio, supporting both operational and analytical use cases.
- Architect scalable, secure, and efficient data solutions aligned with business goals and digital transformation initiatives.
- Identify and recommend new data-driven use cases, including:
- Descriptive analytics (what happened)
- Predictive analytics (what might happen)
- Prescriptive analytics (what to do)
- Integrate and optimize the use of current enterprise data platforms, including:
- Cloudera (big data platform)
- Informatica (data integration and governance)
- MicroStrategy (BI & reporting)
- SAS Visual Analytics
- Data IQ (data profiling and governance)
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and data scientists to enable seamless data flows and advanced insights.
- Ensure that data architecture supports data privacy, security, quality, and compliance requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- CDMP Certified Data Management Professional
- Informatica Certified Data Governance Specialist
- Cloudera Data Platform Certification
- Microsoft / AWS / GCP Data Architecture Certifications (a plus)
- 10+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise information architecture.
- Strong experience with data governance frameworks, data strategy development, and data classification.
- Proven experience implementing enterprise-level data architecture.
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with tools such as Cloudera, Informatica, MicroStrategy, SAS Visual Analytics, and Data IQ.
- Experience enabling advanced analytics initiatives including machine learning and statistical modeling.
