About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic management couple to join our boutique hospitality and sustainable farming property in Graaff-Reinet, South Africa. As part of our balanced model, you will be responsible for managing our restored self-catering houses, overseeing conservation efforts, and providing exceptional guest experiences. Key Responsibilities
- Manage four restored boutique self-catering houses, catering primarily to South African guests with a growing international market
- Oversee conservation efforts, including free-roaming cattle and game, veld improvement, and environmental protection
- Provide exceptional guest experiences through strong communication and guest engagement skills
- Operate property management systems (currently Nightsbridge or similar platforms)
- Lead and guide guest activities such as hiking and game drives
- Manage bookings, guest correspondence, and reservation systems
- Confidently cook and host for guests
- Lead a small team of staff with an inclusive, collaborative management style
- Anticipate operational needs well in advance and implement hands-on improvements
- Oversee bookings and communication for our affiliated guesthouse in Graaff-Reinet
Requirements
- Proven background in lodge or boutique hospitality management
- Fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans)
- Valid firearm licence
- Experience operating property management systems
- Strong communication and guest engagement skills
- Excellent organisational ability with meticulous attention to detail
- Advanced logistical planning skills suited to remote operations
- Ability to manage bookings, guest correspondence, and reservation systems
- Confident cooking and hosting capabilities
- Strong problem-solving ability and crisis management skills
- Competence in basic administration and financial oversight
- Staff leadership experience (small team environment)
