General Manager Luxury Lodge | Grahamstown, Eastern Cape
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a highly experienced General Manager to join a prestigious Luxury Lodge based in Grahamstown, Eastern Cape. This is a live-in position offering a competitive salary of R30,000 per month (negotiable depending on experience).
The ideal candidate will be a well-presented and professional individual with a strong background in lodge or hotel management, exceptional leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering world-class guest experiences.
Requirements:

Matric
-
Degree, National Diploma or Certificate in Hotel Management (essential)
-
Minimum of 5 years experience working at a 5-star lodge or hotel
-
Proven management experience within a similar environment
-
Clear understanding of lodge operations
-
Computer literate and proficient in MS Office packages
-
Proficient in OPERA property management system
-
Professional, well-groomed, and excellent communication skills
-
Strong administrative and operational skills
-
Excellent attention to detail and time management abilities
-
Financial acumen with an understanding of budgeting and cost control
-
Strong leadership and team management skills
-
Sound knowledge of Guest Relations, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and Front Office operations

Experience using platforms such as Guest Revu and TripAdvisor
-
Ability to implement strategies to enhance guest satisfaction, reputation, and profitability
-
Exceptional Food & Beverage knowledge
-
Passion for training and developing staff
-
Understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures

Valid drivers licence (no endorsements) and own reliable transport (essential)

Willingness to live on-site
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all lodge departments to ensure smooth day-to-day operations

Maintain high standards of service, guest satisfaction, and property upkeep

Manage and motivate staff to achieve service excellence

Ensure financial targets are met and budgets are managed effectively
-
Maintain strong guest relationships and handle feedback proactively
-
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall lodge performance
