Are you a skilled and motivated mechanic with experience working on Volvo trucks? Our client is looking for a dedicated Assistant Fleet Mechanic/Mechanic to join their team and support the maintenance and repair of their growing fleet. In this hands-on role, youll work alongside experienced technicians to ensure our Volvo trucks remain in top conditiondelivering reliability, safety, and performance on the road. Minimum requirements:

• Valid driver’s License (Code 14 would be advantageous)
• Reliable transport
• Fluent in Afrikaans
• Trade test as a Diesel Mechanic
• Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in a similar role
• Must be willing to be on standby on weekends (if necessary)

Required skills:

• Proven experience in the maintenance and repair of Volvo trucks or similar heavy-duty commercial vehicles
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, air brake systems, suspension, and transmission systems
• Ability to perform diagnostics and fault-finding using electronic diagnostic tools and software ( for example, Volvo Tech Tool)
• Familiarity with preventative maintenance procedures and safety inspections
• Competence in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic system repairs
• Skilled in using a variety of hand and power tools
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service bulletins
• Good time management and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship
• Effective communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment
• Basic understanding of workplace safety practices and compliance standards

Remuneration:

R 25 000 – R 30 000 Cost to Company
