Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Maintenance Manager for a luxury safari lodge located in the heart of the Kruger National Park. This live-in role is perfect for a hands-on, proactive professional with a strong technical background and a passion for delivering high standards in lodge operations and infrastructure upkeep.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the daily operations of the maintenance department
-
Ensure all lodge infrastructure, including buildings, vehicles, plumbing, electrical systems, and machinery are maintained and fully operational
-
Lead, train, and manage the maintenance team to ensure high performance and adherence to safety standards
-
Develop and implement preventative maintenance schedules
-
Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies
-
Maintain records of all maintenance work and ensure that reporting is accurate and up to date
-
Manage budgets and procurement of tools, materials, and supplies
-
Liaise with lodge management to plan and prioritise work in accordance with operational needs
-
Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations
Requirements:
-
Minimum 5 years experience in a maintenance management role, ideally within the hospitality or lodge environment
-
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, etc.)
-
Strong leadership and team management skills
-
Excellent problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach
-
Solid understanding of health and safety compliance
-
Computer literate with basic proficiency in maintenance reporting tools
-
Ability to live and work in a remote bush environment
-
Valid driver’s license
