About the Role
Our client is seeking to employ a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Officer to join their manufacturing facility based in Heidelberg, Gauteng. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring full compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards across the plant.
- Monitor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Support certification and compliance programmes such as ISO 45001 and ISO 14001.
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, SHE meetings, and risk assessments.
- Identify hazards and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, permits, inspection records, and training files.
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Fire Prevention and Firefighting certification.
- Relevant HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, or SAMTRAC (advantageous).
- Minimum 24 years experience in a manufacturing or similar production environment.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Management, or a related field.
