About the Role
Network Finance is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Accountant to join our team in the Western Cape region. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for preparing consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial insights to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare consolidated monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data across all entities
- Perform variance analysis and provide actionable insights
- Ensure compliance with SARS regulations, VAT, and tax requirements
- Oversee AP, AR, general ledger, and payroll functions
- Manage and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Ensure compliance with South African tax legislation
- Implement and monitor internal controls and financial processes
- Assist with annual budgets and forecasts
- Partner with business units to track financial performance
- Provide financial input to support business strategy and planning
- Lead year-end audit processes and liaise with external auditors
- Prepare audit schedules and required documentation
- Identify areas for improvement and implement process enhancements
- Ensure compliance with local and international reporting standards
- Manage and mentor junior accounting staff
- Drive a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement
- Support team development and performance
- Provide management reporting and financial insights
- Support corporate transactions, including M&A or restructuring
- Assist senior management with strategic finance projects
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, or equivalent) highly advantageous
- 3–5 years’ experience, with proven exposure to a group or multi-entity environment
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and South African tax legislation
- Experience with consolidations and intercompany accounting
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, SAP, or Pastel
- Exposure to cloud-based financial tools (e.g., Xero, Dext, Syft) advantageous
- Experience with CaseWare or similar reporting tools beneficial

Additional Information
