Job Summary

Role: Financial Manager
Location: Hermanus, Overberg, Western Cape
Salary: TBC

What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Management & Accounting

Overall ressponsibility for financials, including management accounts, budgeting, debtors, creditors and cash flow.
Prepare and analyse financial reports for the School Management Team (SMT) and School Governing Body (SGB).
Keep financial controls, systems, and reporting structures in check.
Manage payroll and oversee financial policies related to school fees and exemptions.
Ensure compliance with audits, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

Operations & Admin Support

Work closely with the School Principal to keep financial and administrative processes running smoothly.
Manage non-teaching staff handling finance, admin, and support services.
Oversee procurement, facilities maintenance, and asset management.
Make sure health, safety, and security policies are followed.

What We’re Looking For

Strong Management Accounting Experience: Solid track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and controls.
Hands-On, Practical Approach: In the small team everyone has to roll up their sleeves.
Detail-Oriented & Proactive: You spot problems before they happen and fix them.
Great Communicator: Fluent in Afrikaans and English, able to work well with staff, parents, and stakeholders.

What You Need

BCom in Accounting, Finance, or similar qualification, or qualified by experience.
5+ years in financial management or management accounting.
Experience in a hands-on finance role, preferably in a small or medium-sized business.
Strong financial systems knowledge and proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
