What You’ll Be Doing
Financial Management & Accounting
- Overall ressponsibility for financials, including management accounts, budgeting, debtors, creditors and cash flow.
- Prepare and analyse financial reports for the School Management Team (SMT) and School Governing Body (SGB).
- Keep financial controls, systems, and reporting structures in check.
- Manage payroll and oversee financial policies related to school fees and exemptions.
- Ensure compliance with audits, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Operations & Admin Support
- Work closely with the School Principal to keep financial and administrative processes running smoothly.
- Manage non-teaching staff handling finance, admin, and support services.
- Oversee procurement, facilities maintenance, and asset management.
- Make sure health, safety, and security policies are followed.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong Management Accounting Experience: Solid track record in financial reporting, budgeting, and controls.
- Hands-On, Practical Approach: In the small team everyone has to roll up their sleeves.
- Detail-Oriented & Proactive: You spot problems before they happen and fix them.
- Great Communicator: Fluent in Afrikaans and English, able to work well with staff, parents, and stakeholders.
What You Need
- BCom in Accounting, Finance, or similar qualification, or qualified by experience.
- 5+ years in financial management or management accounting.
- Experience in a hands-on finance role, preferably in a small or medium-sized business.
- Strong financial systems knowledge and proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
