Job Summary
Kendrick Recruitment is now seeking a Lodge Manager for one of our clients, a prestigious luxury African safari company based in Hluhluwe. This is a remarkable opportunity for an experienced hospitality professional to join a world-class team delivering exceptional guest experiences in a remote, wilderness setting.
Key Outputs:
-
Prepare welcome and departure notes for guests
-
Oversee guest check-ins and attend to special requests such as dietary needs and family requirements
-
Host and engage with guests throughout their stay
-
Implement and maintain lodge BOPs (Best Operating Practices)
-
Ensure high standards are met across all guest touchpoints
-
Supervise set-ups and cleanliness for breakfast, lunch and dinner services
-
Maintain the styling and tidiness of the main guest areas
-
Oversee mealtime hosting and service delivery from kitchen and waiting staff
-
Manage guest check-outs and conduct daily room checks
-
Collaborate closely with department heads and service teams to uphold operational excellence
-
Assist other departments as needed to ensure smooth lodge operations
-
Provide high-quality guest service consistently
-
Oversee bar stock orders and inventory
-
Manage staff performance, timekeeping, and human capital processes
Skills Required:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with guests and staff
-
Exceptional organisational ability and attention to detail
-
Ability to think laterally and take initiative
-
Professionalism and adherence to high service standards

Leadership capabilities with the ability to guide and correct team members
-
Resilience under pressure and ability to meet guest expectations

Integrity, honesty, and a proactive, driven attitude with career aspirations
Knowledge Required:
-
Recognised hospitality qualification
-
Sound understanding of the local environment, communities, and country context
-
Familiarity with company operations and ethos
-
Valid, unendorsed South African drivers licence
Previous Experience Required:
-
Minimum 3 years experience in a relevant lodge or camp management role
-
Proven track record in guest service and team management within a high-end hospitality setting
