Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Quality Systems Officer to support and enhance quality and food safety systems within a food manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring compliance with food safety standards, maintaining quality systems, and supporting environmental management initiatives.
Key Performance Areas
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Maintain and continuously improve quality management systems in line with applicable codes and food safety standards

Identify system gaps, implement corrective actions, and issue non-conformances for deviations
-
Assist with the development and maintenance of HACCP plans across all product categories
-
Compile and maintain accurate product specifications
-
Support audit preparation and participate as a member of the audit team during food safety audits
-
Assist with pathogen and non-pathogen environmental monitoring programmes
-
Conduct in-house training and environmental awareness sessions
-
Participate in monthly quality meetings
-
Perform regular housekeeping inspections and issue non-conformances for non-compliance
-
Support internal audits, mock recalls, and continuous improvement initiatives
-
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of the environmental management system

Support preparation for environmental and compliance audits
Knowledge and Experience Required

Matric qualification
-
Food Sciencerelated degree or diploma
-
Minimum of two years experience within the food industry
-
Proven experience in quality system implementation and maintenance
-
Working knowledge of food safety standards and HACCP principles
-
Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team
