About the Role
A leading bottling company in Cape Town is seeking an experienced Production and Maintenance Manager to join their team of professionals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production management, maintenance, and staff supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning, implementing, and controlling of the manufacturing line in a cost-effective manner
- Overseeing the manufacturing process by drawing up, controlling, and adjusting the production schedule according to operational requirements
- Supervising and motivating the production team
- Reviewing all staff work performance
- Identifying staff training needs
- Managing and maintaining accurate record keeping and control of all machinery and equipment of the line
- Ensuring that machines are maintained according to set schedule
- Managing and operating the equipment according to SOPs and adhering to safe working practices at all times
- Performing scheduled inspections of equipment and housekeeping as specified by checklist
- Performing physical testing, dry run during and/or after schedule maintenance
- Performing visual quality inspections of manufacturing line and reporting all faultiness, machine malfunction promptly to management
- Ensuring compliance with all housekeeping rules and regulations
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety and environmental procedures and legislation
- Ensuring compliance of safe machine operation of all equipment and machinery to prevent injury or damage
- Performing regular health and safety inspections on the line for all hazards and identifying unsafe practices
- Performing daily clean-up of production lines
Requirements
Relevant Diploma/Degree in Production/Engineering or equivalent
5 years experience working on bottling line and beverage industry
Soft drink/beverage/FMCG experience
