About the Role

Our Client is looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Senior Bookkeeper to take full ownership of the financial administration, reporting, and compliance for two or more related entities within a small group structure. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in an autonomous, high-responsibility environment and enjoys mentoring Junior Bookkeepers while ensuring financial accuracy and efficiency across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full financial function for multiple entities, including daily transactions, reconciliations, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain accounting systems and policies to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Supervise and mentor Junior Bookkeepers, reviewing reconciliations and journal entries for precision and compliance.
  • Oversee inventory and stock control, including monthly stock takes and reconciliations to the general ledger.
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
  • Take full responsibility for VAT, PAYE/UIF, and SDL submissions and ensure compliance with all statutory regulations.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and manage the audit process with external auditors.
  • Support management with budgets, forecasts, and financial performance tracking.

Requirements

  • Matric with Accounting (HG)
  • Completed Accounting Diploma (min. 24 months) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years full-function bookkeeping experience in a stock-bearing business.
  • Proven experience managing multiple entities and supervising staff.
  • Professional registration with a recognized body (advantageous).

Qualifications

  • Completed Accounting Diploma (min. 24 months) or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
