About the Role
Fempower Personnel is seeking a highly skilled Contracting Specialist to join our team on a 6-month contract basis in Johannesburg. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for translating complex procurement requirements into contract terms and conditions to realise identified benefits. You will lead and execute all aspects related to the establishment and management of contracts, including contract negotiations, and ensure that existing contracts remain valid with respect to changes in Sasol’s internal and external environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Enable once-off, call-off and multiyear complex contracting benefits / value release through the delivery of a watertight and cost effective contracting capability.
- Measure contract performance against expected category opportunities.
- Minimise number of contractual breaches for which Sasol is financially liable, or which would negatively affect Sasol’s reputation.
- Propose new ways to enable reduction in contract management costs.
- Prepare, negotiate, and administer all contracts within a portfolio in accordance with Sasol’s policies and legal requirements.
- Implement effective methods to maximise ‘on-contract’ spend within the complex contracting portfolio.
- Ensure that new /amended contracts are communicated in a timely and appropriate manner to all relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare weekly reports on contract status, productivity, compliance, and modifications /amendments.
- Respond to complex enquiries regarding contract terms and conditions, and contract processing requirements and guidelines.
- Ensure that robust contract management and review processes and procedures are in place to manage and mitigate risk in the organisation.
- Ensure end users are trained in and honour the contract terms and conditions as stipulated in the agreement.
- Monitor and address supplier performance issues.
- Ascertain that contracts database / register is maintained.
- Apply evidence-based SHE practices in alignment with set standards for safe operations.
- Implement Sasol Group’s risk philosophy and enterprise risk management framework.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to enable the achievement of successful complex procurements.
- Continuously improve own skills and knowledge. Complete, implement, and track personal development plan to attain personal performance goals.

- 11+ years of relevant experience
