About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant to join our team at Telebest in Johannesburg. As an integral member of our finance team, you will be responsible for providing financial support and guidance across various contracts, sectors, and business units. With 3+ years of experience in accounting and a relevant tertiary qualification in finance (such as a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce), we are looking for someone who can lead by example, manage complex financial data, and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial preparations and reporting on Contract/Sector/BU
- Maintain the financial system and report on the current financial status of all contracts / sector / BU
- Monitor the budget and participate in forecast preparation
- Day-to-day handling of financial requirements
- Attend meetings as and when required and attend to all treasury requirements
- Prepare and submit monthly VAT reconciliation
- Prepare GL reconciliations
- Develop customer relationships to secure payment on time
- Ensure legal compliance of all financial standards
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role
- Advanced skills in Excel and financial package
- Team leadership qualities
- Read and interpret commercial contracts
- Budgeting and variance reporting
