About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Buyer – Gifting to join our team in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving profitability, selling-through, and category growth, while maintaining product information, pricing files, and order documentation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage product categories and build compelling seasonal & evergreen ranges
- Drive profitability, sell-through, and category growth
- Maintain product info, pricing files, and order documentation
- Build and manage annual product & sourcing calendars
- Source innovative products and negotiate pricing, terms, and MOQs
- Conduct competitor analysis, trade visits, and trend monitoring
- Complete landed-costing, pricing updates, and margin reviews
- Support in-store merchandising, POS development, and monthly retail themes
- Conduct store visits and provide visual merchandising guidance
Requirements
- 2 years in Retail Buying / Product Management / Merchandising / Marketing
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong organisational skills & attention to detail
- Excellent communication & teamwork
- Skilled negotiator with local & international suppliers
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint & product costing ability
- Own reliable transport
