A well-established organisation within the fashion and retail sector is seeking an experienced Buyer to join their dynamic team in Sandton, Gauteng. The ideal candidate will play a key role in sourcing quality products, ensuring optimal stock levels, and contributing to the organisations ongoing growth. Responsibilities Develop and implement buying strategies to meet customer demand and business goals. Source and negotiate with both local and international suppliers to secure competitive pricing and quality products. Analyse sales performance, stock levels, and trends to guide purchasing decisions. Work closely with suppliers to monitor quality, resolve issues, and ensure timely delivery of stock. Conduct market and competitor research to remain updated on trends and pricing. Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as planning, merchandising, and logistics to ensure smooth product flow. Maintain detailed records of purchasing activities, supplier performance, and costings. Participate in range development and assist with product development where required. Requirements Degree or Diploma in Fashion Buying, Retail Management, or Business. 35 years experience in buying or product development within fashion, accessories, or kidswear. Exposure to FMCG or mass retail environments highly beneficial. Experience liaising with international suppliers (especially China and the Far East) preferred. Strong negotiation and vendor-management skills. Excellent analytical skills with experience in forecasting and trend analysis. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
