Job Summary
The successful candidate needs to be a commercially astute, articulate, dynamic, intuitive and an influential financial leader with the ability to operate at a fast-paced strategic and operational level. The CFO will play an integral role in the operational and strategic direction of the company to achieve long-term sustainable results. The role of the CFO is fully accountable for all the financial aspects and systems that will help the company grow in line with our strategies. The CFO is expected to analyse results and implement recommendations based on their findings with the most profitable outcomes. While overseeing the accounting functions and team, the CFO will play a key role in developing and implementing financial procedures and ensuring strong financial controls to improve and maintain the financial health of the business. The incumbent will also be responsible for the successful delivery of finance and related projects. The role requires strong leadership by someone who can influence and embrace constant change while continuing to build a dynamic, skilled and professional finance team that takes full accountability.
Responsibilities:
Commercial Acumen: Take overall control of the companys accounting function Ensure that the companys financial systems are robust, compliant and support current strategies and future growth Manage cost control and policies attached to cost control across the company Treasury and investment management ensuring that the soundest financial decisions are made in the best interests of the company Work closely with operational leaders of the business to challenge decisions and help drive better commercial outcomes Ensure decision makers have complete and reliable information enabling value adding decisions to be made Financial Reporting & Business Review: Maintain and develop relevant financial reporting to manage and proactively analyse the business Review and improve transactional data flow and processes to ensure valid, accurate and complete reporting Reports financial status by developing forecasts, budgets, reporting results, analysing variances and developing improvements Responsible for overall company wage analysis and review Strong understanding of modern data requirements to drive automated reporting and improved insights through greater use of BI tools Provide the business with insightful commentary and suggestions in a manner that is understandable and usable by the recipient Strategic Planning: Contribute fully to the development of company strategy across all areas of the business while challenging assumptions Foster positive relationships with RSA and Global teams to ensure company strategy is effectively implemented Ensure that the business has profitable, sustainable growth while operating ethically and within the realms of good corporate governance Ensure the businesses budgeting processes are carried out and reviewed and re-forecasted where necessary Financial Compliance Ensure the financial integrity of the financial results of the company Ensuring that all Financial Controllers of each pillar are maintaining adequate financial controls and are reporting accurately and promptly Ensure that the regulatory requirements of all statutory bodies are met in an effective and timely manner Risk management and internal control that supports the organization in achieving its objectives Strong understanding of tax regulations and risks Understanding B-BBEE compliance regulations and guiding the businesses around scorecard expectations Responsible for sign off and submission of all regulatory returns Ensure timely completion of the annual audit and sign-off of the Annual Financial Statements for the Group Leadership and Culture Lead a financial team of 60 people Able to motivate, inspire and develop Advocate for change and greater Group strategy Able to develop and maintain strong relationships within Finance and with the greater Global Business Services Team Provide clear direction and vision for the entire finance team Able to influence decisions to support overall business strategy Manage vendor relationships Culturally aligned and able to embrace the company culture and philosophies Education and qualification requirements: B.Com (Hon) (Accounting) or equivalent CA (SA) and is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) or equivalent qualification/experience 10+ Years working experience 3+ years in a CFO or Financial Director Role is preferred Experience leading a large finance team Salary – Market related
