About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Customer Care Consultant to join our team in Johannesburg. As a key member of our customer care team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional support to our members, providers, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond to and resolve queries, complaints, and requests from members, providers, and internal stakeholders
- Liaise with healthcare partners and departments to provide timely solutions
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, claims, and resolutions using designated systems
- Validate member benefits, accounts, and medical scheme membership
- Identify and escalate complex issues to senior staff
- Prepare quotes for services (e.g., dental, optometry) according to benefits
- Support interdepartmental processes and ensure adherence to protocols
- Perform administrative tasks including record keeping and reporting
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Relevant experience in the medical aid or healthcare industry
- 24 years of experience in customer care within a medical aid environment (preferred)
- Knowledge of medical schemes, claims procedures, PMB, ICD-10 coding, tariffs, and benefit options
