Job Overview:

As a Debt Review Specialist, your primary responsibility will be to assist individuals who are facing financial difficulties by assessing their financial situations and facilitating the debt review process. Your role will involve evaluating debt, creating repayment plans, and guiding clients toward financial stability.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Client Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of clients’ financial situations, including reviewing income, expenses, and outstanding debts.

2. Debt Review Process: Initiate and manage the debt review process, which includes contacting creditors, negotiating repayment terms, and drafting debt repayment plans.

3. Financial Analysis: Analyze financial documents, credit reports, and other relevant information to determine the most suitable debt management strategy for each client.

4. Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with clients, creditors, and legal entities, providing updates on the debt review process and addressing client inquiries.

5. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations governing debt review processes, such as the National Credit Act (NCA) in South Africa.

6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of client interactions, agreements, and financial assessments.

7. Client Education: Educate clients about responsible financial practices and budgeting to prevent future financial difficulties.

8. Negotiation: Negotiate favorable terms with creditors to reduce interest rates, extend repayment periods, or settle debts when appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in debt counseling, financial advisory, or a similar role.
• Knowledge of South African debt review regulations and the National Credit Act.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Empathy and the ability to work compassionately with clients facing financial challenges.
• Proficiency in using financial software and Microsoft Office applications.
