Johannesburg: Electronic Engineer – Control & Instrumentation

🔧 Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and test custom PCBs for control systems. Program and configure PLC systems (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron, etc.). Develop and maintain SCADA/HMI interfaces. Integrate and troubleshoot control and instrumentation systems (sensors, transmitters, and actuators). Perform field testing , commissioning, and calibration of equipment. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver automation solutions. Prepare detailed technical documentation , wiring diagrams, and system layouts. Support fault-finding and optimisation of electronic and control systems in production. 📘 Minimum Requirements: BEng in Electronic Engineering (or equivalent). 25 years hands-on experience in: PCB design (Altium, KiCAD, or similar); PLC programming & fault-finding; and Control systems and instrumentation integration. Working knowledge of communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, and Ethernet/IP). Familiarity with low-voltage systems, signal conditioning , and loop tuning . Valid drivers license and willingness to travel to client sites when required. 💡 Advantageous Skills: SCADA/HMI systems (e.g., Wonderware, WinCC, and Ignition).
