About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join our team in Johannesburg for an initial 6-month Fixed-Term Contract. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Reviewing, examining and interpreting of financial records and transactions;
- Technical accounting analysis and application thereof;
- Producing accurate trial balances for all divisions (franchise and equity operations);
- Reconciling and analyzing of general accounts and producing meaningful financial reports to be used by management.
- Responsible for internal & external financial business reporting requirements in line with strict timelines to accurately reflect the organization’s financial performance, assets & liabilities.
- Ensuring accounting and internal control best practices and continuously enhancing the efficiency of financial systems and financial reporting.
- Building meaningful relationships with users of financial information, company bankers and auditors.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce Accounting Honours (CA(SA))
- 3 to 5 years in fast-paced environment
- Strong analytical & end-to-end reporting skills
- Strong technical accounting acumen (US GAAP; IFRS)
- Attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (especially communication of financial information to non-finance stakeholders)
- Excellent computer literacy skills (Microsoft Suite; application of business intelligence reporting tools)
- Strong communication skills written and verbal (must be able to translate financial accounting interpretations to non-Finance teams)
- Deadline-driven; able to work well under pressure with multiple tasks on hand
- Oracle financial applications (JDE, HFM, FDM)
