About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import & Order Management Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing purchase orders, import coordination, customs documentation, freight administration, and related operational support in Johannesburg on a 3-month contract basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage purchase orders and coordinate with freight forwarders and vendors
- Monitor cargo readiness and shipment timelines, updating merchandise reports accordingly
- Create, maintain, and update order files and merchandise reports, including weekly reporting and status movements
- Respond to and resolve buyer, forwarder, and supplier queries timeously, ensuring smooth end-to-end shipment flow
- Complete and manage Customs documents according to priority and regulatory requirements
- Monitor, print, and verify customs requirements prior to vessel arrival
- Review and validate draft customs requirements against shipment documentation
- Liaise with forwarders and shipping lines to manage freight forecasts, rate comparisons, and allocations
- Resolve freight-related queries and issues timeously to ensure smooth shipment flow
