About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Director to lead our technology function, guiding the direction of all technology and security functions to ensure dependable, efficient and secure services. The ideal candidate will have a strong vision for building stable, secure and future-ready systems, while balancing long-term goals with operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the direction of all technology and security functions
Guide strategy and planning across systems, operations, risk, and major technology projects
Oversee the management of infrastructure, networks, cloud environments, service performance and continuity planning
Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure effective service delivery
Provide direction to the technology and security teams, ensuring clear responsibilities and strong collaboration
Manage major projects from planning stage through completion, ensuring quality outcomes within agreed timeframes
Ensure strong governance practices, including risk controls, data protection requirements and security standards
Maintain strong oversight of service providers, contracts and supplier performance

Requirements

Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Informatics or a related field
Certification in project management is beneficial
Knowledge-based certifications in governance or security are an advantage
At least three years experience in a senior technology leadership position
Eight to ten years experience across technology operations or enterprise systems
Proven background guiding security functions or overseeing security practices
Demonstrated experience managing complex technology projects

Qualifications

Formal education/certifications (Bachelor’s, LLB, Matric, etc.) are required for this role.
