Johannesburg: NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND SALES FREIGHT FORWARDING

An international freight forwarding company is seeking an enthusiastic and results-driven professional to join their dynamic Business Development and Sales team. This role calls for a motivated, articulate, and energetic individual with a passion for building relationships and driving growth. Qualifications & Experience A minimum of 3 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or business development IN FREIGHT FORWARDING with exposure to both South African and international markets.(Candidates who do not have this will be excluded) Solid understanding of sales principles and market research techniques. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related discipline is highly preferable Additional certifications in Sales, Marketing, or Business Development will be an advantage. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using CRM systems. Main Responsibilities : Research and analyse market trends, customer requirements, and competitor activity to uncover new business prospects. Source and develop new leads through networking, cold calling, and targeted industry research. Build, strengthen, and maintain productive relationships with clients, partners, and key stakeholders. Assist in preparing high-quality proposals, client presentations, and sales pitches. Update and maintain accurate sales pipeline reports and documentation. Collaborate with marketing, operations, and product development teams to ensure alignment on strategic objectives. Prepare reports detailing business development progress and outcomes. Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the brand and develop new contacts. Competencies & Skills Strong ability to collect, interpret, and analyze data related to market trends, customer behavior, and competitive positioning Familiarity with sales methodologies and the end-to-end sales process. Understanding of business development strategies for identifying and capitalizing on growth opportunities. Awareness of industry trends and challenges that may influence business performance. Working knowledge of digital marketing tools and techniques, including social media, SEO, and email marketing. Basic grasp of financial principles, including pricing, budgeting, and profit margin management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with clients and internal stakeholders. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to guide strategy and decision-making. Effective organizational and time-management skills for handling multiple priorities. Sound negotiation and relationship-building abilities to foster productive partnerships. A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
