Job Summary
Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst to lead data-driven decision-making initiatives and business intelligence projects for a period of 6 months. This role involves gathering and translating complex business requirements into strategic analytics solutions, driving data governance practices, and supporting business transformation initiatives through advanced reporting and actionable insights.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in data analysis, visualization, and stakeholder management, with proven experience working in complex, data-rich environments.
The key responsibilities for this role will include:
- Lead business data analysis efforts for cross-functional projects, from requirements gathering to data modelling, analysis, and reporting
- Develop advanced dashboards, analytics models, and decision-support tools using Power BI and other BI platforms
- Partner with business leaders to identify key trends, risks, and opportunities, providing clear, data-driven recommendations
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure high-quality, reliable data pipelines and structures (Databricks, SQL)
- Drive data governance initiatives including metadata management, data quality monitoring, and alignment to corporate data standards (Unity Catalog, certified data assets)
- Contribute to Agile delivery processes, participating in sprint planning, backlog prioritization, and solution testing
- Present findings and strategic insights to senior leadership and executive stakeholders
As you will be required to hit the ground running extensive experience is essential.
The requirements:
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics or related field
- Masters Degree in related fields (advantageous)
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in a business data analysis, business intelligence, or data strategy role
- Advanced skills in SQL for querying large datasets
- Expert in Power BI (or similar tools like Tableau, QlikView) – including DAX, Power Query, and data modelling
- Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (Databricks, Azure, AWS)
- In-depth experience with data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data quality assurance
Skills Required:
- Experience in an Agile Scrum delivery environment (Scrum Master or Agile BA background is a plus)
- Knowledge of data security, data cataloguing tools (Unity Catalog), and certified data asset processes
- Familiarity with corporate data sustainability or ESG-linked data initiatives
- Strong business acumen with the ability to influence decision-making through data
