About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a finance team in Johannesburg North, overseeing financial planning, reporting, and management processes to drive business growth and ensure regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Overseeing the preparation, accuracy, and integrity of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in line with IFRS and regulatory standards
- Managing statutory reporting, including the review and submission of returns to relevant regulatory bodies
- Ensuring effective cash flow, liquidity oversight, and daily cash management processes
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting cycle, including capital management inputs
- Managing audit processes and maintaining strong governance and internal control frameworks
- Providing financial insights, reporting, and analytical support to senior leadership
- Driving continuous improvements across financial systems, processes, and reporting functions
- Leading and developing a finance team, ensuring performance, capability building, and alignment to organisational objectives
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to support informed business decision making
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years post articles experience, ideally within the financial services or insurance sector
- At least 1 year of experience managing a finance team
- Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, statutory reporting, regulatory frameworks, and financial governance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, financial accounting systems (SAGE), and Caseware
- Strong financial acumen and the ability to interpret complex financial information
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment
- Ability to manage complexity and drive results under pressure
- Professional integrity, resilience, and the ability to engage confidently across stakeholder groups
Qualifications
BCom (Financial Accounting) or equivalent CA(SA) undergraduate qualification (Honours advantageous)
Completed SAICA articles (essential)
